An online payment project has two connected parts: approval for the merchant service and implementation inside your website or application. Planning both together helps you avoid a finished checkout that is still waiting for approval, or a live payment account that your team cannot reconcile with customer orders.
THE PRACTICAL TAKEAWAY
A successful payment implementation supports merchant approval, confirmed order status and finance operations as one connected journey.
Prepare the merchant application
Confirm the legal entity receiving payments, settlement account, business model and the products or services sold. Prepare the documents and website information requested by the selected provider. IT Paradise can assist with application preparation and coordination for Fiuu or RevPay; acceptance and commercial terms remain subject to the provider’s review.
Choose channels around customer behaviour
Discuss whether customers need online banking, cards, e-wallets or other supported methods. Available channels depend on the provider, market and approved merchant setup. Confirm fees, settlement arrangements, refund handling and any recurring-payment requirement in the quotation and merchant agreement.
Connect payment status to the order
A customer returning to a success page is only one part of the journey. The application should verify the provider’s payment notification using the agreed integration method, match it to the expected order and amount, and update the order in a controlled way.
Plan for repeated notifications, delayed results and a customer closing the browser. A payment should not fulfil the same order twice, and an uncertain result should have a visible pending state and a way for staff to investigate.
Include refunds and reconciliation
Finance needs transaction references, paid amounts and records that can be matched to settlement information. Define what happens when a refund is requested, who can approve it and how the application reflects its outcome. The scope may include an accounting or ERP connection when needed.
Test the whole journey before launch
Use the provider’s test environment where available and agree a controlled production verification. Cover success, failure, cancellation, delayed confirmation and repeat submission. Keep payment credentials on the server, follow the provider’s security guidance and avoid collecting card data unnecessarily in your own application.
